As Mammoth Lakes Foundation was in the process of developing the Mammoth Arts and Cultural Center (the MACC) to serve the local community and area visitors, AMS was engaged to further define the business plan paying particular attention to governance and management structures as well as confirming earned revenue sources and further learning from model case studies. The goal of our work was to develop materials enabling a capital campaign to proceed and the building to be developed and successfully operated.
AMS embarked on a comprehensive process to review the Foundation’s current business plan, conduct stakeholder interviews, user and community surveys, and provide case study data in order to provide a through illustration of activity and operational requirements.
Our study revealed significant revenue and cost centers that drive venue seasonality and programming decisions. Additionally, we provided economic impact data, and identified strategic partnerships and programming as key factors in increasing the Center’s impact.
